CAP is a great big "jungle gym" obstacle course on which participants maneuver between platforms ranging from 12 feet to 50 feet above the ground. Climbers take the action into their own hands by choosing to go on a combination of easy, intermediate, and advanced obstacle courses. There are 9 courses total, with three circuits on each level arranged in a cloverleaf shape. No two obstacles are alike and all are designed around a coastal theme using ropes, cables, barrels, and other materials sure to physically and mentally challenge climbers of all fitness levels. The higher up the central staircase you go, the more difficult the obstacles on each course become. In the center of several circuits climbers may choose to take a 80' zip line back to the central tower, which offers another type of thrill. But have no fear, climbers will be in a harness and attached to a safety device while completing any obstacle at all times. Climbers may set their own pace and complete as much or as little of the course as they want to during their 2 hour climb. Course guides provide supervision, pointers, and physical assistance when necessary to make sure that all climbers have the best experience possible. Corolla is the largest aerial adventure park on the Outer Banks, and has plans for an additional fourth level of fun and challenge in future seasons. The course boasts a bird's eye view of the Currituck Lighthouse and beyond to some of our region’s unique wildlife. The luckiest participants may even catch a glimpse of a wild pony or boar! The property itself is situated along a wetland ecosystem that CAP actively strives to preserve and enhance with the addition of beneficial native plant species, environmentally-responsible business practices, and educational opportunities to share with our visitors about local flora and fauna.
